The two year mark has passed. On the first of March 2018, I embarked on my pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Two years later, welcome or not, this moment provokes the need for reflection.

Hej hej, Just letting you know that I’m going o Hej hej,

Just letting you know that I’m going of the grid for a while.

The past weeks of not working haven’t been providing the rest and disconnect that I was hoping to find.

I’m longing for a full reset.

A letting go of everything that was to create space for new energy, healthier habits and fresh ideas to flow.

Walking the path inward. Reflecting on what was and is, on where I want to go.

So until then, hope you stick around. For I believe better things are coming.

Love 💕

It was on the del Norte, the day was leading us to It was on the del Norte, the day was leading us to Castromaior. I had to drag myself to the top. One foot after the other.

I can recall every step. The blistering heat on my forehead, my backpack cutting into the the flesh around my shoulders, and the tears burning in my eyes.

The road to the top of the mountain kept winding and winding. The closer I got to the top, the more I cried.

I didn’t believe I could do it.

When I finally got there, I shouted and my tears continued to flow.

Knowing I wasn’t there yet.
Feeling a little lighter.

Pathways. The roads that carry us. They lead us Pathways.

The roads that carry us.

They lead us to destinations we choose, to places we cherish in our hearts.

Chasing the bends, crossing the fields, we keep looking for the signs that'll guide us on our way.

Fervently hoping to catch sight of them soon.

Today marks the beginning of Spring. We're transi Today marks the beginning of Spring.

We're transitioning from rest to renewal, from a period of introspection to one of awakening.

Fresh ideas, new energy.

It's the season of planting the seeds of the life we wish to create, the dreams we'd like to chase, the adventures we want to have.

The seeds we will nourish in the upcoming weeks.

The seeds that will sprout, grow and bloom... like never before.

Our bodies talk to us. All the time. They tell u Our bodies talk to us. All the time.

They tell us how we feel, what matters to us. They tell us what we need, like when we are hungry and when we need to rest.

Walking to Santiago was the start of restoring the difficult relationship I've always had with my body.

Every step of the way, I had to listen. For it was my body that was carrying me, holding me.

I had to take care of it, trust it, for I couldn't do without it.

I realised I lost some of that connection. Taken over by the continous stress, I didn’t listen as intently and sincerely as I did on the Camino.

If you have a spare moment. Take some time today to sit, close your eyes and take a deep breath. How does your body feel? What is your body telling you?

Why is *being* so incredibly difficult? Those end Why is *being* so incredibly difficult?

Those endless days of walking the road to Santiago, I remember I wasn’t doing. Walking yes, but nothing more. Just being.

Is it the value put on our achievements by society? How do we view ourselves when we aren’t doing things? Is our use, our value, our worth only dependant on our output?

Not doing means being. Yet, while doing seems to be something glorious and celebrated, simply being seems to carry a weight of laziness, of lack, of unworthiness with it.

I wonder why. And even more so, I wonder if it can be different - if I could choose to feel different about being.

Being enough by simply being.

Being worthy by merely being.

Being whole, only by being.

I've been quiet about it.  I thought that not ta I've been quiet about it.

I thought that not talking about it might make it go away. Perhaps, not taking the words in my mouth would make everything that’s happening pass unnoticed.

The past weeks I’ve been at home, unable to work. A mind overflowing, emotions blurring, and continuously feeling anxious and stressed.

I thought I could go on a little longer, that there would be enough time to rest. And then, all of a sudden, everything was just too much. I couldn’t keep *doing* anymore.

After a period of unbelief, denial, and attempts to slow down… I believe that the words that have remained unspoken, will pave the path to healing.

So instead of being quiet, I’ll speak up. I’ll tell the story as it is unfolding for this is the everyday journey, the everyday pilgrimage.

At this moment, I’m unsure where this path is leading. Yet, I trust I will find my way with time.

Renewing.

Transitioning.

Changing.

It was about time! Finally, I took myself outside It was about time! Finally, I took myself outside for a reflective adventure today.

For hours and hours, I walked.

I climbed a tree, and sat high up whilst I watched the rain fall down.

When the sun came out, I sat on the moss absorbing the warmth of the rays.

I crossed a huge sand plane, and when I was right in the middle of it, I got hit by a massive hailstorm.

And I went off road, disappeared into the forest, knowing that one way or another I’d find my way out.
